  • Iron Deficiency

Depending on the region, between 25 to 50% of the people experience iron deficiency. This is a very common problem. Besides the annoying symptoms, people with iron deficiency will also experience a lack of energy, which consequently affects their daily life. Reasons for having an iron shortage might be impaired absorption (e.g. Crohns Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome etc), low intake of iron-rich food (meat, fish, poultry) or blood loss (menstruation, surgery, bleeding).

Iron deficiency can be measured with a simple blood test:

    • Check the haemoglobin level, which should be at least 12 g/dl for woman and not less than 13g/dl for men.
    • Check the ferritin which is optimal at a level of minimum 100 ug/L.

It is important to take the necessary measures against a low iron level as it may evolve into iron deficiency anaemia (IDA), which is a disease that may be dangerous for the patient. To reach the recommended level of iron, GlobiFer is a reliable and reproducible method of ensuring normal iron levels and preventing iron deficiency.

  • Female Health

Premenopausal woman have a high risk of iron deficiency due to menstrual blood loss. Suffering from iron deficiency will lead to symptoms such as headache, hair loss, nervousness, dizziness, depression, palpitations and about 180 body functions may be affected.

Thanks to a different way of absorbing iron, GlobiFer has a much higher tolerability, allowing to maintain a good iron level and avoid consequences of iron deficiency.

During pregnancy low iron counts greatly diminishes well-being for the mother and may even have life-long consequences for the baby. Youngsters with iron deficiency risk permanent neurodevelopmental damage and impaired learning abilities.

  • Oncology

Patients following cancer treatment are likely to experience side effects such as diarrhoea, constipation, gut issues and others. They might feel unwell and consequently have no appetite. Also tiredness will occur, even when waking up. Due to the lack of food, the iron in diet may not be sufficient.

Doctors might advise a blood transfusion. By taking GlobiFer the patient’s iron level remains at a good level and there may be no need for a transfusion. GlobiFer forte has the advantage of being highly tolerated and at the proper time

  • Gastroenterology

Gastroenterology is related to bowel problems. Typical consequences may be stomach or abdominal pains. By taking regular iron (ferrous salts), these pains could be reinforced. Furthermore an inflamed bowel will lead to further blood loss. Thanks to the different route of absorption of GlobiFer through the gut, the patient will be more likely to comply when taking GlobiFer products and keep the iron level up in order to avoid the side effects of iron deficiency.

  • Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

People facing chronic kidney disease may suffer from anaemia, due to Erythropoietn and iron deficiency, which complicates keeping the recommended iron level. Adding traditional iron products (iron salts) to the high number of drugs to be taken in case of chronic kidney disease (polypharmacy) may cause nausea and constipation with limited compliance which will affect the maintenance of therapy. Thanks to the different route of absorption of GlobiFer through the gut, the patient will be more likely to comply with the treatment and keep the iron level up in order to avoid the problems of iron deficiency.

  • Chronic Heart Failure

Iron deficiency is a significant problem for many patients with chronic heart failure. In case of this disease we speak about polypharmacy as the patient is recommended to take a high amount of drugs. Adding traditional iron (iron salts) may cause nausea. Therefore GlobiFer offers a potential solution, as it is well absorbed through the gut, without facing the side effects. There will be no obstacle to follow the iron diet to comply when taking GlobiFer products against iron deficiency. The iron level will be restored and the target of haemoglobin reached. And in case of anaemia, it will also decrease the load on the heart.

  • General Surgery

Major surgery implies blood loss. Before the surgery, doctors will check if the iron level is still appropriate, if not they might cancel and postpone the surgery. Therefore, prescribing GlobiFer before the operation could be advised to be sure that the iron level is good enough by the time surgery is to be carried out. After the surgery, it might be useful to continue with the GlobiFer diet to recover a haemoglobin level between 12g/dl and 14g/dl. Thanks to the innovative absorption pathway, the patient’s body can absorb a higher iron dosage per day with GlobiFer than with traditional iron products.
